Apologies to those who found the changes I made to the blog yesterday caused them difficulty. It seems that certain browsers did not respond well to the lighter colour scheme. I have, therefore, reverted to the darker format.
I plan to give the blog a makeover, but will try to come up with a solution which suits everyone.

Sarah, what you have is very good. Please have second thoughts about changing it. It is quite readable as it is. I would hate to see it change from what you have now.
Sarah - from memory -was there not a time when the background colour was dark/almost Irish green?
I found that quite acceptable and easier on the eye than the black.
At 62 maybe our eyes respond in different ways to text/background contrasts?
What do the experts say advise?
