In a nicely written article today entitled “Bonfire of the Insanities” the devastatingly astringent Ann Coulter skilfully skewers the hypocrisy of so many of politicians who only days ago were championing the democratic rights of those seeking to cause deep offence, by building an “Islamic centre” and mosque on the site of buildings damaged in the September 11 2001 terrorist attack on Manhattan, but who are now condemning as “dangerous and disrespectful” Florida Pastor Terry Jones's plans to charcoal grill a few copies of the koran this coming Saturday.
Under the fist amendment of the US constitution Pastor Jones has every right to express his views about the Koran, or any other political tome, in any manner he sees fit. That right is vital to the freedom and health of a democracy, and the American people must resist all attempts by the current administration to take it away from the, which it will do if it is given the chance.
As a resident of Britain, a country where free speech is a limited right and any speech which threatens the establishment's plans to impose a multi-racial society on an unwilling population was prohibited over 30 years ago, I am jealous of that first amendment and I urge our trans-Atlantic friends to treasure and protect it.
However, although I doubt he reads this blog, I also urge Pastor Jones to reconsider his ill-conceived plans.
In doing so I am not concerned that this act of book burning is likely to incite Muslims to violence, which is the disingenuous reason given by everyone from the Pope to Barrack Obama via Tony Blair, General Petraeus, Mike the moron Bloomberg and Hillary Clinton. The fact is that whatever we in the west do, Muslims will find an excuse to be incited to violence by it.
There is an endless list of activities that enable us to protect ourselves, our society andor our way of life which we are now warned will “act as a recruiting sergeant for al Quada”. Merely writing books, drawing cartoons or legislating against the wearing of face masks in public places are enough to send the adherents of Islam into a murderous rage and provoke them into acts of violence. Only today, we were told by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf that were he now not to build his provocative Manhattan mosque, that in itself would "provoke militant Muslims".
We can not live our lives in fear of provoking people who will be provoked by whatever we do.
No, I am not suggesting that Pastor Jones rethink his book burning plans for fear of offending the cult of the perpetually offended. Instead I suggest that he rethinks his plans because of the way that the left, and in particular the left wing media will exploit his unwise act and the lies it will enable them to tell.
If that little church in Gainsville so much as burn a single Koran on Saturday, that act will be used to excuse and justify any number of violent atrocities committed by the hate fuelled followers of the bloodstained cult of Islam.
You can be sure that were Islamic fanatics to set off a bomb in the paediatric ward of a hospital in any American or European city, killing and maiming a hundred Western infants, CNN, the BBC, the New York Times, the Guardian and the rest, together with our craven political leaders, would present it as the entirely reasonable response to an act of Islamophobic intolerance.
Pastor Jonse's plans play right into the hands of the apologists for terror, and they will use it to excuse their darlings for whatever horror they commit.
Islam deserves to carry the responsibility for their own bloodthirsty acts. This plan will give them the fig leaf they will use as fake mitigation and the excuse to portray themselves as victims. We must not give them that excuse.
They, not we, must carry the blame for what they do

Publicly burning the Koran shows someone it can be done and Allah did nothing. It is a shock that wakes a person up or gets them into a rage to forget.
The point is Jesus, showed the way out of becomming a Jew. Showing the way out is what makes cults stone you for.
If no one addresses the plight of the millions of children who suffer under the Tyranny of Islam, we will wake up with it here and no-go areas for Britons will spread.
Kinderling has an excellent point. Christians, including a South African missionary named Shaun Willcock, have addressed two main scriptures in opposing the burnt-out.
"Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver" Acts 19:19.
"Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God" 1 Corinthians 10:32.
Terry Jones is supposed to have alluded to Acts 19:19 to justify the burnout. Shaun Willcock argues that this verse would only apply if Christian ex-Muslims decided to burn copies of the Qur'an, because the book-burners in Ephesus were ex-occultists.
Willcock overlooks the fact that a Christian is "a new creature" 2 Corinthians 5:17. Anything he was previously is irrelevant. Acts 19:19 refers to Christians disposing of items that offended God. So Terry Jones's intention cannot be objected to on the grounds of Acts 19:19.
W.r.t. 1 Corinthians 10:32, it has to be remembered that Islam is at war with the West, according to Dar-al-Harb, or House of War, i.e. any non-Muslim country. See Slavery, Terrorism & Islam by Peter Hammond, Christian missionary to the Sudan.
1 Corinthians 10:32 certainly applies to how a Christian would deal personally with a Muslim e.g. don't order a bacon sandwich if you are conversing with a Muslim in a works cafeteria.
However, the verse can't be used as an excuse for cowardice in the face of the enemy. In 2 Corinthians 11:19-20, Paul, with heavy sarcasm, actually rebukes the Corinthians for just that.
The truth is that Islam is already 'offended' at the West and has taken the offensive against the West.
The question then is, how does the Christian reprove "the unfruitful works of darkness" Ephesians 5:11, one of which Islam surely is.
This is where Kinderling has made such a good point.
Way back in Judges 6:25, God commanded Gideon to "throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove* that is by it."
*Still found in the grounds of certain 'Christian' institutions today.
Gideon did so. The Baal worshippers were ouraged and demanded the death penalty for the 'infidel.'
Gideon's dad Joash, whose altar it actually was, made this most astute comment, Judges 6:31, which appears to have defused the situation:
"And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar."
In other words, don't presume to avenge God (which scripture could have saved a lot of lives during the time of the Crusades if it had been obeyed). If God is God, or if Baal is God, God can avenge Himself.
So will it be with Terry Jones (who will have already 'offended' Allah even by threatening to burn the Qur'an).
If Allah is any kind of 'God' at all, then he can do for Terry Jones even as this comment is being typed.
If he can't, he's not up to much and is an imposter.
All Jihadists, without exception, forget that, if they ever even thought of it in the first place.
By contrast, the Lord Jesus Christ has no trouble putting down 'infidels' Acts 12:21-23 as necessary.
Acts 12:24 is interesting in the context.
"But the word of God grew and multiplied."
As is Acts 19:20.
"So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed."
If Pastor Jones does carry out his threat, let's wait and see what happens afterwards.
P.S. This is interesting. No protests from either Bilary or BarryHO yet.
Great article by Coulter and Kinderling has a great point.
No doubt some on here condone this or more conveniently turn a blind eye out of blind fear of rebuttal or not being liked by the chosen?
I wonder what Morrisey would make of this who you featured earlier?
Look at the way they treat animals included in their rituals.
They're NO different to Muslims

The world now knows about Pastor Jones intention to burn the Koran, however, does it know of the US Military's burning of bibles at Bagram base in 2009. These bibles were printed in the Pushtun and Dari (Persian) languages and to quote the US Military "were unsolicited" which resulted in confiscation and burning of them. (Franks)
“To burn or not to burn” books.
Verses from either the Qur’an or the Old Testament were and still are used to justify many questionable deeds.
Fortunately the Western World, based on Christian values, developed over time a more human face and personal freedom and equality between men and women - a process neither perfect nor without obstacles.
The vast majority of Islamic countries still lack, by Western standard, humanity, gender equality and don’t allow free societies.
Nevertheless, Christian zealots burning Qur’ans are just as unhelpful as Islamic zealots burning Bibles.
Today we have a world-wide confrontation between not only Western countries and islamist fundamentalists. Where is the voice of moderation of the faithful moslim, praying 5 times a day?
We must protect our values! But how? Maybe it’s five minutes to twelve. Pastor Terry Jones et al don’t present a solution. And – very sad – neither the Barack Obama administration, on the contrary. My native country (Germany) meets the challenge with multiculti, newsmedia bring success stories of Turkish citizens and even discuss 10 % quotas for migrants in public service .
And the UK – well, the articles and comments on this website say it all.
