Also in the News

While the world's news has been focused on events in Egypt some other news relating to other troublesome Islamic countries and people may have slipped beneath most people radar.

As Islamic countries go, few are as troubling as Pakistan, hence it is rather disturbing to note the rapid growth in that nations nuclear arsenal. It was revealed this week, virtually unnoticed by the newsmen currently occupied cheering on the emerging Islamic revolution in the Middle East, that Pakistan's nuclear capacity has recently doubled in size and overtaken their significantly less troublesome neighbour and rival India.

Pakistan is now expected to soon overtake Britain and become the fifth largest nuclear power on the planet.

Given the increasing instability in Pakistan, and the growing influence on al-Quada / Taliban style militant Islam, especially within the army and Intelligence services this is a very uncomfortable development, and it is curious that it has not received more attention.

Remind me again how large is our annual foreign aid contribution to Pakistan?

Another story which has received scant coverage here in Britain is the recent revelation by Wikileaks that the British labour party under Gordon Brown actively conspired with Libya in securing the release of the Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset al-Megrahi from a Scottish prison (you remember al-Megrahi, he was the guy who had three months to live in 2009, but who hasn't died bet) the degree to which this was an act of betrayal against our our American allies, and the degree that this may have damaged the Anglo American relationship is outlined in this posting by Adam Shaw at the American Thinker. (Hat tip Dr. D)

Given how willingly New Labour, both under Brown and his perma-tanned predecessor, betrayed their own people, I guess it is hardly surprising they would stab our allies in the back.

Other stories which you may have missed are:

Muslim imam, given award by Princess Anne, facing jail for raping boy, 12, at mosque

Immigrant Hoped to Kill The Very Brits Who Treated His Sick Son...

14 year old rape victim lashed to death by Sharia court

and of course
English man fired for Mohamed joke on Twitter

It is getting worse by the day!!

Luckily, it looks as if they've only just got around to inventing the V1, so we should be safe from such a short-range doodlebug.

Hi Durotrigan

Don't be fooled by the picture I used, I think their arsenal is actually quite significant and dangerous!!

Actually, their missiles don't yet endanger Australia.

It's the Chinese, Indians, and Japanese that worry about Pakistan. India is the one with missile range on Australia thanks to the US. We gave them some old Titan schematics and let them have at it.

That doesn't mean they aren't trying to get better missile technology, they are, but it's difficult to be able to manufacture your own missiles, and no one sells ICBMs on the open market without a riot from NATO and the CIS (former warsaw pact) both.

There'd be dire economic consequences if someone gave Pakistan ICBMs.

You need to question who is facilitating Pakistan with the means to develop their arsenal? Who facilitates the entry of their people into Europe/UK?

Are you aware that there are as many if not more Muslims in India as there are in Pakistan?

Now that Egypt and Tunisia are on the brink of militant Islam maybe Israel with its overriding arsenal of nuclear weaponry is probably the only nation that has the means to save or obliterate us all? ;)

Muslims make up around 14% of the Indian population, I appreciate that is many millions, however, the main religious group, Hindus are 80% and they are much less troublesome.

In Pakistan Muslims are well over 95& of the population

Lets just hope Egypt becomes ultra Islamist and brings massive troubles to their neighbor Israel.
Its been a long time comming for Israel to pay for their various wars theyve fooled the US to fight for them.

Iam all for the Islamist uprising in Egypt. I just hopes Obama continues to ruin the US so they wont be able to aid the Israelis when shit hits the fan.

I would love to see the Arabs and Persians unite and shake off their puppet Governments. Its happening right now and the US does have the
man power or money to fight anymore wars for Israel.

The poor little persecuted jews are going to have to fend off millions of pissed off souls soon, all by themselves.

Yes, it is getting worse by the day. But the biggest problem is that while many more people are awakening to the dangers facing civilisation, they don't make the effort to understand what is happening. And few make any effort to speak out against the lies of the media and the left. So please don't give up Sarah. Thank you for your effort to spread the truth in so many areas.

Pakistan is probably the biggest threat to World peace. This is a failed dysfunctional state of madmen. The islamic practice of "in the family" marriage has resulted in mental instability and illness across the whole population. The most dangerous aspect of this is the frequent displays of totally irrational and uncontrollable rage exhibited by these nuts, combine that with their total subservience to the maniacal islamic religion and you have the very last people who we want to have a finger on the nuclear trigger.

@ Sarah Maid of Albion

And that's why we are (read: the US is) giving Pakistan F-16s and JDAMs. Meanwhile the Indians are developing a stealth fighter with the russians.

In exchange for Russian science expertise, the Indians are going to manufacture the aircraft, and give their newest generation of engineers the experience that Russians have in an arms race.

The Indians have both the resources and the industrial capacity to manufacture something like ten times the number of these planes than the Russians do. India has all the rare earth metals it needs for the project.

While I doubt they'd spend their entire GDP on fighter planes, they'll still end up with more than the Russians.

And they'll end up with an experienced engineer corps.

Next time they want to design a new fighter jet, they won't need the Russians help.

It's the same thing they're doing with the US and ballistic missiles.

Meanwhile, their intelligence corps has been working with Israeli Mossad, assassinating Iranian and Pakistani nuclear scientists.

It's really quite brilliant. They say to the world "Look, there's going to be at least one well armed superpower with a population over a billion and an industrial capacity like the world has never seen before. Now, do you want it to be US, a moderate democracy with a commitment to civil liberties in public, or China, who hates all of you?"

They're winning the PR war, which means they're winning free help from the remaining superpowers.

It's absolutely brilliant, and no one sees how shrewd they are.

Sarah, just dropping by to thank you for some very useful information that I've posted on our blog. I'd never have come across it without you, so consider yourself enthusiastically patted on the back for a job well done.

Those of us old enough to remember the Jimmy Carter administration feel the eerie sensation of ghosts past haunting the global community.

It was the Carter administration's policy of appeasement and keeping up appearances that led to the overthrow of the Shah of Iran and the emergence of a "democratic" government that retains it's hostility to Western culture.

Hopefully the Obama administration will face the same fate as Carter. Even then the damage will already be done.

@Black Bart

Except for one thing: The same Pan-Arab movement that is protesting in Algeria, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen, is also trying to kick start protests in Iran again.

In Lebanon and Syria, there have been protests against radical islamist government. The protests in Lebanon are against Hezbollah, while the protests in Syria are against a radical islamist government.

There were once free and open parliamentary elections in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood never took more than 20% of the vote.

I seriously doubt that the youth of Egypt and Tunisia would trade one dictator for another.

Hopefully, the rather anti-islamist sentiment that is developing there can echo into europe!

The greatest threat doesn't come from Islamists, but it comes from Organized Crime elements that tend to appear when a dictatorship collapses.

The russian mafia got its start that way, and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the birth of an Egyptian mafia within a democratic egypt.

No matter what happens, it's not going to be sunshine and butterflies.

An Afghan physiotherapist will be executed for converting to Christianity
Said Musa, 45, has been held for months in a Kabul prison where he has been tortured and sexually abused by inmates and guards. Musa, who lost his left leg in a landmine explosion in the 1990s, has worked for the Red Cross for 15 years and helps to treat fellow amputees. He was arrested in May 2010 as he attempted to seek asylum at the German embassy following a crackdown on Christians within Afghanistan. He was visited by a judge who told him he would be hanged within days unless he converted back to Islam. But he remains defiant and said he would be willing to die for his faith. Defense lawyers have refused to represent him, while others have dropped the case after receiving death threats. Musa was arrested after a TV station showed western men baptising Afghans during secret ceremonies.
