Armed attacks and murders of ‘rural whites’ in southern Africa between Jan 2010 to Oct 30 2010 -- peaked during World Cup 2010

Oct 30 2010 – According to the two graphs from http://www.farmitracker.com, the number of armed attacks targeting ‘white rural residents’-- 96% of those reported were Afrikaans-speakers -- showed a dramatic peak during and after the FIFA World Cup 2010 football tournaments in South Africa.

Over the past ten months there were 216 attacks against whites in cities; 535 against white smallholders, farmers …

The first graph shows the 216 logged attacks in towns and cities, increased during the WC2010 when the ANC-regime stopped publishing such reports).

• It showed a total of 216 attacks logged against urban whites from Jan 2010 to Oct 30 2010, peaking in August with 8 on one day and now levelling off to three attacks a day.
• The second graph shows details of the more than 535 armed attacks targetting ‘whites’ on farms and smallholdings.

The highest level of city-attacks– eight on one day – occurred in August 2010 – just after the WC2010 had ended and during the internet campaign of several 'black-racist’ groups such as COSAS and Blackwash urging blacks in townships to ethnically-cleanse all the white families.

"The lies aren't working Tutu, we need a distraction - why don't you retire?"

Last month much of the Western press were gleefully repeating claims by South African police and government sources that there has been a significant drop in the previously rising levels of crime. There has allegedly been a fall in the number of murders by 8.6% to less than 17,000 in the last year, meanwhile street robbery is down by over 10% and sexual offences have fallen by 4.4%.

There has also allegedly been a fall of 6.8% in car jackings, which may come as a surprise to some.

This follows wide spread news reports in July stating that crime rates had fallen significantly during the world Cup

Much less reported was the fact that all charges against Nico Venter the man who had been accused of the horrific murder of 17 year old Anika Smit have been dropped.

The killing of Anika Smit received a lot of publicity in South Africa on account of its highly brutal nature and the fact that the victim’s hands had been cut off and taken by her killer.

It was this macabre aspect of the murder which led many to suspect that there may have been a muti connection to the crime. Muti killings, where body parts taken from a live and preferably conscious victim are used in tribal medicine, have been a growing problem in South Africa in the last decade or so. Hence a number of eye-brows were raised when Nico Venter, Anika Smit’s, white, ex-boyfriend was arrested and charged with killing her.

The prosecution gave no reason for dismissing the charges and Venter’s defence lawyers expressed themselves as baffled by this latest development. However, there are strong indications that there never were any grounds for charging Venter other than the obvious fact that he fitted the authorities’ preferred profile.

I suspect that the truth about Anika Smit's murder will never be told, because it would reveal a truth about the new South Africa which too many people have too much invested in hiding.

This, together with the fact finally news have started to trickle out of crimes which were committed during the world cup, including a number of farm attacks, all of which were previously unreported, inevitably make one wonder whether a significant degree of spinning is taking place.

Statistics are only as reliable as those who compile them and in a country with so many there is inevitably a temptation to embroider facts so that they suit a preferred narrative.

The universal preferred narrative during the World Cup was to showcase South Africa to the world as a happy crime free rainbow utopia. Indeed various national comparisons were made all deliberately intended to present the country which western media and politicians played such a huge role in bringing to its current state in a favourable light. The “loveable” South African s were compared to the “moody” French, the “arrogant” Brits and the “cheating” Dutch.

Some of this may have had some merit, but had the commentators taken off their deliberately rose tinted spectacles they may not have viewed the home fans in quite such a “loveable” light.

The Afrikaner Bleed paper recently revealed that there were a number of Farm attacks during the world cup, although none of them appear to have made it into the media until the foreign press had left.

In the last six to eight weeks there have been a series of attacks, both fatal and non fatal, some of which I have included in my latest update to the South of the Zambezi blog today, which can be read by clicking here and only last week the dreadful killing of Jan and Elizabeth Smit which I posted about earlier today. (As far as I know Mr. and Mrs. Smit were not related to Anika Smit)

There is, on course no mention of of the latest attacks in the Western media, and precious little reporting of them in the South African media. We are sold a lie about South Africa, the great rainbow nation. However, the day is fast approaching when that lie will be exposed. Let us hope that, when it is exposed, it is not in the manner which we who know the truth most fear.

WHO IS THE MOST CORRUPT, FIFA OR THE ANC?

2010 corruption World Soccer South Africa.

I have just read the excellent book by Andrew Jennings all about FIFA soccer.“The Secret World of FIFA”. Bribery, Vote Rigging, Ticket Scandals, Theft, Fraud and Corruption.

This excellent book exposes the corrupt world of soccer, FIFA President Sepp Blatter and his corrupt friends. We all know that the corrupt African National Congress, South African Government and families are all involved in inflated tenders, Kickbacks, bribery, massive fraud, theft and corruption.

After reading this book I cannot decide who is the most corrupt.

Both parties had their hands up to their elbows in the cookie jar.

This whole FIFA Soccer is just a massive rip-off of the South African tax and rates payers’ money.

Another well planned golden opportunity for these corrupt people to hide more stolen money in overseas banking accounts.

The ANC lied to the South African Public concerning the costs of the 2010 soccer.

The South African “BID BOOK” to FIFA World Cup detailed a TOTAL Cost of R3 BILLION.

The actual cost spent was more than R40 BILLION.

That is R37 Billion over budget.

Furthermore over R100 Million was spent on our useless South African Soccer team who were knocked out in the first round.

More than R120 MILLION of South African tax and rates payers’ money spent on buying tickets for ANC family and friends.

Only 20% of tickets were actually sold to overseas tourists therefore the 2010 soccer was a massive flop putting tax and rates payers’ in DEBT for the next 20 years.

I also heard there was massive corruption at the Nelspruit Soccer Stadium.

Whistle blowers getting assassinated.

The so called “Beautiful Game” was definitely not beautiful.

Very few goals, dozens of yellow and red cards, deliberately playing the man instead of the ball, arguing and fighting, definitely NOT beautiful.

Almost every ANC Municipality in South Africa was already Bankrupt in debt to more than R50 BILLION before this soccer and here the ANC spend a further R40 BILLION on this soccer rip-off.

The Tax payers insist on an official independent AUDIT of all the 2010 soccer expenditure.

SO WHO IS THE MOST CORRUPT, FIFA OR THE ANC?

I think it is a Photo Finish it is too close to call.

Zuma and Blatter will have to have a penalty shoot out.

Somebody's daughter

When I checked the news sites this morning she remained unidentified, a young blonde woman aged in her late teens or early twenties. From what remains of her clothes she seems to have been smart and well groomed, she had manicured nails and coloured highlights in her hair, she apparently cared about her appearance, and was probably pretty.

She was found on Monday on a road side in the Vaal Rand, not far from from Johannesburg. She had no identification, her body had been set alight and she was burnt beyond recognition. Early post mortem results suggest she may well have been alive when first set on fire, and who knows what horrors she lived through before that final agony.

She was killed not long before she was discovered, as smoke still hung in the air when a passing motorist went to investigate what was burning and found a horror which will no doubt haunt him. No effort had been made to hide the body and car tracks were found near the scene.

She is someone's daughter, maybe someone's sister, but nobody has yet reported her missing. Perhaps they are travelling and do not know she is gone. Maybe it was she who was travelling and those who love her are in another country awaiting her call, three days is not long to go without hearing from a grown up child on holiday.

Whoever she is, and wherever she comes from, she will become another statistic, if she is even recorded at all, the South African police are not that fastidious when recording violent crime, especially against whites. News of her final suffering will be reported briefly, but, unless she is a tourist, only in South Africa itself, portrayed as if it is a rare aberration rather than the routine, every day brutal murder that it is. She will be mentioned again briefly, if her killers are caught, but they probably won't be, so few are. Then she will be forgotten, cast into the void of the unmentioned, together with all the other young lives prematurely snuffed out in terror and in pain to feed the depravity of brutal men and crimes unacknowledged by a dishonest world.

Somebody's daughter died on Monday, but the world will soon look away.

Will visitors to the 2010 Soccer World Cup be safe, secure and have easy access the venues?

This venture capital gamble on the entertainment industry, using the money of the poorest of people as the risked capital, was the product of a small cadre in the African National Congress. Far from being debated, the decision never even traversed the South African Parliament.

South Africa is a country in which the population continues to grow rapidly, and has outstripped every limb of the infrastructure. This failure includes the capacity to maintain law and order, which appears to be failing at almost every level of the legal system.

The 2000 new cars which were being introduced into the road system every day in South Africa were not matched by an equivalent increase in the road traffic infrastructure. Cape Town now has only one traffic engineer (because of “affirmative action” disenchantment). Gridlock is becoming common. Probably the greatest problem which followers of a team will meet will be to get to the next venue, Do not believe that there will be trains to be caught at short notice (people also get thrown from moving trains) or that there will be sufficient aircraft capacity. Even getting to the airports could be agonising.

South Africa has a fundamentally unstable population in an uneasy equilibrium. This is because of the extraordinary spectrum of different social classes, wealth, education, language and race. Part of that equation is sustained because the poor cannot react economically to protect themselves in a way that the wealthy can. Most can therefore only retreat into

non-confrontational poverty: but for many the only way only out is crime. It is an uneasy equilibrium and fragile balance.

Meanwhile, the black “middle classes” have shown themselves to be extractive, corrupt, and spendthrift in an astonishing fashion. 30% of the white population, who effectively operated the country in the past, have left an unfilled administrative vacuum.

The South African government has found it impossible to control the borders with a constant unmonitored flood into the country. There is no prospect of regaining control of “illegal immigrants”. The surge of ambitious pickpockets, cut-throats and HIV positive prostitutes, from the huge reservoir that is the rest of impoverished tropical Africa, into South Africa has already started. So the instability will increase.

As is usually the case when the borders of a country open to the international world, prices increase, approaching (and often exceeding) international prices. Visitors may find that this will not be an inexpensive visit. The resident population will stress under price increases. This destabilizing factor will again damage mostly the poorest.

Visitors should not delude themselves into believing that by spending their Euro in South Africa that they will “help the poor”. That money has not, and will not. go to the rural – there is sufficient history now to show that it will make the black city-rich, richer.

The danger of an event like the World Cup is that it provides great expectations. For most this is the hope of economic salvation.

Once the World Cup is over, what then will be the social stability? There will be large groups of people who have lost their hopes. There will be many who begin to realize that the wealth went somewhere else. Therefore more will migration from the farmlands to the shack-cities. The imported criminals, and those home schooled in crime especially for the World Cup, will remain.

Distasteful levels of wealth, which will be displayed by the political elite, will contrast with the hopeless of others as an inflammatory catalyst into reaction by the proletariat.

The outlook cannot be optimistic.

World Cup 2010 - the hidden dangers

Did any of you know that there has been serious outbreaks of rioting and violence in South Africa over the last week? In fact, it has been going on for months. Missed it on the news did you? That is not surprising it didn't make the TV news and the BBC website only ran one small brief item, hidden away in the Africa section, where few football fans tend to venture.

I am sure most of you thought that the so called "xenophobic" violence which flared up last year, and resulted in a number of immigrants being burnt alive, was an isolated incident which has now been resolved. If so, you were wrong.

News of the growing dangers are being suppressed, because the media want to keep pretending the rainbow nation is a multicultural paradise. It is not, and in a few months time we will be sending thousands of young men and women into harms way without warning them what they could face.

Untold dangers

If it wasn't so unlikley, it would be interesting to speculate as to whether charges of whatever the relevant equivalent is of negligent homicide, or even culpable homicide will end up being brought against FIFA and much of the Western media who are currently promoting the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, without the slightest hint of warning.

Whenever the subject comes up, film of beaming, friendly looking South African youth appears on TV, and South Africa is mentioned as a vibrant young democracy, and the country itself portrayed as some sort of Disney style theme park.

No mention yet of the fact that South Africa has become one of the most dangerous crime ridden places on earth which is not yet a failed state. Muggings and robbery exceed anything we know in the West many times over, murder is running at seven times the current rate in America, , whilst the numbers of rapes are ten times as high, and much higher than that that in terms of both child rape and male on male rape.

Given the rapid deterioration of the situation, the rates are likely to be even higher by 2010.

Do you think these things will be mentioned? I doubt it, our media has too much invested in promoting their own fantasy vision of the rainbow nation without allowing the risk to a few dozen (or more) lives to make them break a habit of a life time and tell the truth.

We are lead to believe that the most important issue is whether enough poor people will be able to afford tickets to the games, whereas the really important issue is how many visitors will get home with life, limb and property still intact. Where are the warnings about avoiding urban areas, staying in groups, only carrying the money you need to and not letting anyone see that you own a camera or mobile phone?.

The lack of caution is particularly reckless considering the normal behaviour of football fans when the visit foreign cities. They instinctively want to go down town, explore, find a bar and then get drunk and vulnerable. In much of South Africa such behaviour by Westerners is the equivalent of an antelope walking up to a pride of lions drenched in a honey and mustard dressing with a garlic bulb up its a##.

However, it is exactly what fans will do if they are not warned not to, and I am not hearing any warnings so far.

Let us hope that the fans have guardian angels looking out for them, as, on present showing, it seem unlikely that the media, FIFA or the Government have any intention of doing so.
