It were Detroit what made me dumb

Detroit, dumbing down its residents

This report would be hilarious, if it wasn't so totally pathetic:

(Reuters) - A murder in the neighborhood can significantly knock down a child's score on an IQ test, even if the child did not directly witness the killing or know the victim, U.S. researchers reported on Monday.

The findings have implications both for crime control efforts and for the heavy reliance on standardized tests, said New York University sociology professor Patrick Sharkey, who conducted the study.

They can also explain about half the achievement gap between blacks and whites on such tests, he reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

"It means being more aware of the potential for violence to have a reach that extends beyond just those victimized and those who witness a violent event, to reach across a community and affect all children in a community," Sharkey said in a telephone interview............................

I hope the so called professor is mocked and ridiculed across the Internet, he certainly deserves to be for producing such a transparently politically correct piece of rubbish.

Sadly there will be people who will pretend to believe stuff like this.

Scientists are taught not to use absolutes when they express themselves. A UFO sighting CAN knock down an IQ test score....a spring tide CAN knock down an IQ test score...whatever.

However, scientists are also taught to be unbiased. I guess he f*cked up in that regard.

From the unadulterated twaddle: "Curiously, there were enough murders in Hispanic neighborhoods but Latino children seemed unaffected." Holy smokes, Batman! Sharkey has just admitted the existence of a racial difference! According to the code followed by all leftist academics, shouldn't he be fired, and all of his publications expunged?

- No, I have to disagree; sadly there ARE people stupid enough to believe stuff like this-especially here in the US, they are not pretending! Where the "social science" (an oxymoron if ever there was one, since there is nothing more filled with pseudoscience and sheer Voodoo than this field of "study")researchers is concerned, they will produce politically correct "findings" as their livelyhood depends upon it. The truth will get them fired or put them at eternal odds with those who sign their paychecks (witness professor Kevin MacDonald, for example).

The thing is they all know. The people producing these nonsense theories know. That's why they produce it. They're desperate to prove the IQ stuff wrong.

I know there are millions of secondary stooge-level followers who still believe but at the top level they all know. It's just a matter of time.

There'll be a hell of a SHTF moment when it blows.
